A week of surprises!

If i had to pick a picture to describe what exactly has happened this week, the picture above would describe it in so many words. This week has been full of every emotion you can think of. But one word that stands out to me it, CHAOS! We have had five kids and two adults taking care of them. I just don't see how anyone could do this to themselves. It has been fun but exhausting. Crazy but worth it! I have posted a few pics from different moments in the week.

She loves this ole horse! I think all of us grandkids and great grand kids have too!
Grandpa is having it out with little Silas!
Some of us just played too hard.
It was obvious that Jayden doesn't get to play with rocks that much, where Caedis was like, o yeah we have a ton of those where I am from!
We felt that since all the grand kids wouldn't be together for easter that it was mandatory for us to have an egg hunt!
Look at all the eggs she found ( This was while the other kids were out trying to find the one egg that was left!)

Looks like the Easter Egg Hunt paid off for someone!
We decided that the kids have been pretty good all week so we took them to McDonalds. W

We decided that we had so much fun at McDonalds, that we would head on over to Chuck E Cheeses. Apparently everyone else had the idea that sitting and watching your children play was a fantastic idea, seeing how everyone around here is on spring break! Yes ok and tx is!!!
Some of weren't having as much fun as the others... You see, the babies have to lay down for a nap at one or else they get cranky which makes me cranky... She was tired and the mouse kept pestering her!

Alex and Silas were having so much fun playing on the games that they would stick coins in until the games started and play for a few seconds and leave. Most of the time they would leave while the game was still going on and usually they left the tickets too! If you see us at Chuck E Cheeses, be sure to follow us around!

Silas was rather taken by Uncle Nathans race car! He was so excited to get in it, but not only did he get to sit in it, he got to start it and rev it up! I don't know if you can see the excitement on his face but you could tell, he was so happy!

Medieval Times!!!

With this being Alexander's 5th birthday, Of course we did all we could to make sure he got everything he wanted. He was dazzled by the outside of the castle and was a touch scared that the sharks in the moat outside would get him, so we had to hurry in. When we got inside I was asked to buy a celebration package or any of the others. We chose the knighting package. We walked in and all got a picture with the Princess (with whom my brother was drooling over). We then proceeded out to the main area where Alexander got his knighting. (Pic Above) He was so committed to it, head bowed, eyes closed. Very sweet. We then had a small amount of time to waste. So what else did we do but spend some money at the store, and have some Margaritas? Yes, mom included (well she had a strawberry Daq, but it was still the real deal!) Anyway, we enjoyed our time before the show and then it was time to head in.

Alex was in aw! He was excited about seeing more knights and all the horses and things of that nature. We were in the blue knight's section and it was all fun! They captured the Prince, the princess was upset, the knights fought to get her back against the bad knight (which was the green one) and finally won her back (the black and white one won). Alex was the best part in it, every time someone got hurt, Alex would worry about them. However, they all came out at the end so he could see everyone was ok! That was really a lot of fun. We will have to go again soon!More pics on Facebook!

My little boy, how you have grown!

Here is a picture of my big boy a few weeks ago. Yesterday was his fifth birthday. Here is the classic saying, I remember the day he was born! Truth is, I do remember the day he was born. I went into labor at the BCT Girls Finals game, but I wouldn't go to the hospital until the game was over... (I know, just a bit on the hard headed side). Isn't it amazing how clear a few years can be.

Below, is a picture of Alex when he was two... He was and still is just adorable.
We are taking him to Medieval Times today. Will Post pics later!

Mama Mama, I am bleeding!

Nathan has always told me that when the children bleed, it is my job to take care of it (he says he can't handle seeing any of us get hurt). So I was giving the children a bath, as usual and I got J out to get her pj's on. Alex decided he wanted just a little bit more play time in the water. I got J dressed and went in to check on Alex when he looked at me and yelled, "Mama Mama, I am bleeding" and he held his little thumb up there and said "Hurry mom, fix it!" I couldn't help but laugh, it was nothing but a small paper cut looking thing. I told him it was nothing to worry about, and walked out of the bathroom. Not 10 seconds later, He starts yelling, "It is getting all over the place!". So I walk into the bathroom and it has smeared on a few small spots of his thumb, and he is frantic! I then grabbed his towel and took him into the kitchen to bandage him up. I am putting the Neo on his little cut when I hear a loud splash. I look into the bathroom and J apparently didn't get enough time in the water! She has jumped into the tub, which is still full of water bc I didn't take time to let it out, in her pj's. She just gives me a big grin as I walk in there! I went back to Alex to finish taking care of him, and then I went to tend to J. If only my camera weren't broken you could see the chaos that I just got to experience! It is so good to be back in school!

A week of no chaos!

Since we have been out of school all week, I haven't really had much to do. I have found myself sitting and watching tv, like I normally wouldn't do... Tuesday after the scrimmage, I started getting excited about cooking! I went to the store and bought some things for alex and I to make cookies! He has been so excited. So yesterday, after doing all the laundry I can stand for one day, Alex and I hit the kitchen. Everything started ok, then I open the mix and Alex drops (he really kinda threw it) all over me... We only recovered about half of the mix (we only came up with about 16 cookies and it is supposed to make 3 dz). We went on with cooking and after we took out the cookies we began to prep the frosting. We stepped up to put the frosting on the cookies, and I saw something move. I looked up (because whatever it was, was rite beside us I mean within a few feet) and just as I look up a little mouse runs out from behind my toaster, runs down the cabinets and runs behind the fridge!!! I am screaming, and Alex is screaming, and Nathan comes running in to save the day, then laughs at us when he sees that the mouse if maybe an inch long... I grab the kids and we sit on the stools, so our feet aren't on the ground and we can safely watch daddy, since he just laughed at us! We sit there and Nathan is banging on the fridge, when the mouse reappears and runs across the floor, Nathan didn't even have time to react before he got across the kitchen, he is a fast little booger! Don't worry he didn't get into my cookies, but now I am petrified of walking into a room with no light on!

On a happier note, I have my Christmas shopping done! Eat your heart out!

Soper, Rock Creek, Boswell- alot to Bennington- not so much

I have been discovering over the last few weeks how much of a challenge coaching really is. However, I can do everything in my power for the girls and if they do not care, then it is out of my hands. We have spend hours upon hours of doing drills and scrimmaging for us to shoot 13% in games! The only reasonable explanation for this, is that they just don't care. They come to practice and go through the motions, and everyone wants to play when it comes to games, but no one wants to do anything while they are on the floor. We have been having a very difficult time with things that should have been taught to these girls in elementary school however, they were never taught the foundations of athletics period! We are having a very hard time shooting, passing, dribbling, and pretty much everything else... The only thing we do right is run the plays, but we can't even get it down the floor! I am beginning to get frustrated, however, I continue to get parents telling me that I am doing on heck of a job... WE will see how this turns out, however, I have a feeling things will get way worse before they get better!

Revelations

Over the course of the last few months there are things that I have heard all my life that are becoming more apparent. The first one that I want to share is one that I have heard about everything you do in life.
1. It is all about who you know!
Upon graduating from College in may, I sent out many resume's just trying to get an interview. I felt that I could get one because I had worked hard during my years of schooling and I am a good person so everything will just fall into place. After about 2 months of not hearing anything from anyone, I received a call from the Coach I did my student teaching under. He let me know that his friend had just received the Superintendents job at Bennington and they had offered him the job but he didn't want it so he recommended me. I played phone tag with the principle and finally decided to just drive over there. I drove over and handed him my resume and the next day he offered me the job. Coincidence? I don't think so. Blessed, yes but coincidence? I don't think so.
Another example... Last night was the last night for racing! (Finally thank God!) It was also winner takes all, in that whoever won the race last night won the points championship, a jacket, cash, free entry next year, and bragging rights. Nathan ended up winning by at least a half a track. The thing you have to realize is that just like everything else, racing has it 'groups' and they all bend over backward to make sure an 'outsider' doesn't come in and mess everything up. So they tore down the top three cars (forced to according to rules) which definately included Nathan's car. They tore Nathan's car all the way down and decided that although his heads were legal, that no one else runs those heads so he was disqualified and won nothing(except bragging rights if you ask me). The second car they tore down in that class they only checked two things, told him he was legal and told him to hurry and leave before they had to check anything else(true story, no exaggerating! He left in a hurry and they deemed him as Champion!) The third car they tore into had something( i don't know all the technical terms) read illegal according to the tech guys gauge and the tech guy was called out it and he said the gauge was 'messed up'! So nathan left empty handed, but it was nice to know that he ran legal and he still beat the cars that were really illegal! So why couldn't someone pull for nathan? The guy that really likes nathan, stepped down 2 months ago and has no say so in any of this... So we need to 'get in' with someone else, since that is the real game we are playing!

The second thing that has become more apparent to me is:
2. What goes around comes around!
The first one that I have is a very positive one. I have worked my tail off for the last four years and am finally getting to enjoy my family, paycheck, and new car! Praise God!
Two weeks ago, the guy who was the only competition for Nathan brought another car in, from a different class, and had him block for him so Nathan couldn't get around him. Blocking is illegal if you get caught, and since three cars out of 16 finished that night, it was obvious what was going on. The car, who didn't change anything in his car, was deemed legal and was successful in blocking for the other guy, because he won. Last night the guy that brought the other car down, flipped his car about 2 times and really messed up his car bad! Was it circumstance or Karma?

My final revelation is that life is full of surprises! Jayden wouldn't sit in anyone's lap last night except for Nathan's grandma. I will not ever argue over that. She was so attached to her last night and it was one of the sweetest things that anyone ever did see!
I also prayed for rain and the good Lord has been giving us Plenty! Thank you for all of your blessings dear Lord! They don't have to stop any time soon!
